(EN) Scalp issues ? Meet my holy grail Bioderma Node A

My first post is a review of 2 Bioderma hair products: Bioderma Nodé A – the Soothing Shampoo and the Soothing Concentrated Mask.

I should probably start by letting you know that I’ve never had major issues with my hair or scalp. Ever since adolescence, my hair has always been greasy and although it’s annoying as fu#k, I got used to this, because my skin was oily too (still is). Go genetics ! Thanks mom !

WHY ?

A couple of months ago, my scalp started itching and I deveoped extreme sensitivity to all the shampoos in my bath (drugstore ones, mostly). It hurt like a motherfucker to wash and blowdry my hair; and I would get all these white flakes all around my hairline, behind the ears and at the back and top of my head. I tried hidrating it with coconut and olive oil for 2 consecutive days, but that didn’t work at all!

So I decided to scour the internet and online stores for hair products that would take me out of my misery. And so they did ! I couldn’t find too many reviews on these 2 products and so I thought “why not kill two birds with one stone?” because I’ve wanted to start a blog for some time now.

Both the shampoo and the mask worked wonders !

HOW ?

For about 2months I washed my hair with these two products only. I would pour some of the shampoo in my palm and I would massage it only at the roots, then I would rinse it off with lukewarm water. Afterwards, I would take the mask, slightly tapping and massaging it into my scalp. In all honesty, I believe that she is the miracle maker! It cools, calms and soothes the scalp in only 2 minutes, and it was love at the first use ! Both the itching and flaking disappeared after only 4 washes, but I continued using them, because I was sure that the problem wasn’t treated.

            

Both of them have a pharmaceutical smell, of plants and medicine. The shampoo is clear and runny and smells a bit nicer than the mask, not so medicine like. The mask has a thicker consistency and it’s white; the smell is a bit unpleasant, but it doesn’t linger.

I highly recommend Bioderma Nodé A ! It really is a holy grail for itchy, flaky scalp !

I stopped using the shampoo about 2 weeks ago, but I still use the mask. I also changed a few other things in my wash and dry hair routine: I’m only using lukewarm water and I also lowered the temperature on my blowdryer, at least until my scalp desensitizes.
